The standards we hold ourselves to.
Independence, transparency and analytical rigour — the disciplines that protect the value of our published work.
Editorial independence
All research published by the Institute is editorially independent of our advisory engagements. We do not accept paid placements, sponsored analysis or promotional content. No client may review or amend a publication that references their property or business.
Conflicts of interest
Where any analyst, contributor or institute fellow has a material interest in a property, operator or transaction discussed in our work, that interest is disclosed in full at the point of publication.
Confidentiality
Confidential information shared with us in the course of advisory engagements is never used in published research. Aggregated and anonymised intelligence is the only basis on which engagement-derived data informs publication.
Citation and quotation
Our research is widely quoted by major newspapers, investment funds and hospitality boards. We welcome considered citation; misrepresentation is challenged.
Corrections
Material errors are corrected promptly, transparently and with a clear note on the publication concerned. We do not silently amend published work.
