Research Advisory Council.

An independent council of senior figures from ownership, operation, investment and academia advising the Institute on its research programme, its priorities and its standards.

Mandate

The Council advises the Editorial Board on the direction of the Institute's research programme, on emerging themes deserving of institutional attention, and on the continuing adequacy of its standards. It does not exercise editorial control over publication.

Composition

The Council comprises senior figures drawn from luxury hotel ownership, operation, hospitality investment, academic research and adjacent disciplines. Appointments are made on the basis of standing, judgement and independence.

Terms of reference

Members are appointed for renewable terms. The Council meets twice yearly. Its proceedings are recorded in a standing minute and its advice is reflected in the published research programme.

Independence

Material interests held by members of the Council are disclosed in the Register of Interests. Members recuse themselves from advice on matters in which they are conflicted.

Appointments to this body are made on the basis of institutional standing, independence and expertise. The framework is established; appointments are announced individually as they are confirmed.
